Growing Roots is a small charitable project that has operated on an allotment in Highfield Park in the south eastern side of St Albans since 2013.

The charity is a member of Communities 1st and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.  It is governed by a small team of trustees and the day to day running is undertaken by the Coordinator and other volunteers.  The trustees meet three times a year and hold the AGM in April when possible.

Funding has been accessed from several organisations including:

Ayletts Garden Centre, the Cooperative Group (Herts & Essex Area), St Albans Fund For The Future, St Albans Council (Community Grants) and most recently Hertfordshire Community Foundation (Small Grants).

We would like to thank all organisations and individuals who have contributed to this project in any way.

At Growing Roots we believe that everyone can really benefit from being outside enjoying the environment, growing all kinds of plants. Growing Roots provides opportunities to do this and so improve health and wellbeing.
